Cupronickel is an alloy made from copper and nickel. It is used for a variety of new machines. Its uses are hinted at in resonance archives, added in version 1.18.0.
Obtaining
As an alloy, cupronickel is not naturally occurring and must be created by the player. Cupronickel is created from a mixture of 65-75% copper to 25-35% nickel. These ores must then be cast in a crucible to create cupronickel, which can then be poured into prepared molds for use.
Since cupronickel has a smelting temperature of 1171°C, smelting it will require the use of black or anthracite coal, coke, or charcoal. Brown coal does not reach a high enough temperature to smelt cupronickel.
Usage
- Night vision mask
- Night vision lens

Cupronickel ingots can be combined with a chisel in the crafting grid to return cupronickel bits, which can be re-cast and reused. Cupronickel ingots can be stacked on the ground, stored in a display case, or stacked on shelves.
Progression
Cupronickel, along with electrum, is used exclusively to craft advanced technological components that provide several major new functions. Since these new machines require significant investments in time and materials, and require rare parts that drop only from powerful enemies like corrupt sawblade locusts, it is an item that will largely only be used by endgame, well-geared players.
