Electrum is an alloy made from silver and gold. Its uses are primarily end-game.
Obtaining
As an alloy, electrum is not naturally occurring and must be created by the player. Electrum is created from a mixture of 40-60% silver to 40-60% gold. These ores must then be cast in a crucible to create electrum, which can then be poured into prepared molds for use. Once cast into ingots, it can also be smithed on an anvil to create plates.
Since electrum has a smelting temperature of 1010°C, casting it will require the use of any type of coal, coke, or charcoal.
Usage
Electrum is a crafting ingredient for a variety of unusual machines. Its uses are hinted at in the Resonance Archives.
Currently, only electrum ingots and plates can be made and used. Electrum plates can be re-smelted into two electrum ingots, making them infinitely recyclable.
Electrum ingots are used to craft:
- Electrum plates
- Rift ward
Electrum plates are used to craft:
Electrum ingots can be combined with a chisel in the crafting grid to return electrum bits, which can be re-cast into ingots. Electrum ingots can be stacked on the ground, stored in a display case, or stacked on shelves.
Progression
Electrum, along with cupronickel is used exclusively to craft advanced technological components that provide several major new functions. Since these new machines require significant investments in time and materials, and require rare parts that drop only from powerful enemies like corrupt sawblade locusts, it is an item that will largely only be used by well-geared players.
History
The Resonance Archives were added in version 1.18.0.
