Animals |
Raccoons are common animals in forests and shrubby grasslands.
Spawning
Raccoons spawn in average groups of 1-3 individuals, male, female and pup. It is important to note that raccoons only spawn near naturally generated log blocks. Player placed logs will not spawn raccoons.
Raccoons spawn in the following climate:
Parameter | Min. value | Max. value |
---|---|---|
Temperature | -4 | 15 |
Rainfall | 0.4 | 1 |
Forest | 0.5 | 1 |
Shrubs | 0.5 | 1 |
Behaviors
Raccoons seek to eat berries from all types of bushes and honey from skeps, or laying on the ground as items. They cannot jump over fences or out of pits 2 blocks deep. Raccoon pups try to stay near female raccoons and will not attack.
Attacking the Player
Raccoons will only attack when damaged and will seek the player up to 20 blocks away. Raccoons have a melee attack that does 3 damage. Raccoons do not try to avoid obstacles when pursuing the player and will easily fall into pits.
Receiving damage
Raccoons will on occasion flee or attack upon taking damage.
Domestication
Raccoons cannot be domesticated but can be killed for animal resources.
Harvesting
Players can butcher a raccoon using a knife to obtain drops. Shift+right click until the butchering process is complete and the GUI opens to allow players to remove drops.
