The bowl is a functional block made by players. It is primarily used as an eating utensil so that players can eat meals made in cooking pots , as well as being used to create oil lamps .
Creation
Bowls must be made by players through clay forming , using any type of clay . Once formed, clay bowls must be fired in a pit kiln before use.
Usage
- Bowls can be used to store liquids such as water , milk , honey and others. Bowls can hold a maximum of 1L, and can be used to move liquids between other containers such as barrels and wooden buckets by using . Their low capacity makes them useful while cooking certain types of meals in the cooking pot that require relatively small quantities of liquid, such as jam . They cannot interact with jugs .
- Bowls can also be used to take portions of meals out of cooking pots and crocks , by equipping an empty bowl and the filled crock or cooking pot. This is the only way to get an edible portion of food from either of those utensils.
- Bowls are also a crafting ingredient for creating oil lamps, alongside fat . Oil lamps are a useful early game source of light - while dim, they never burn out and cannot be extinguished by rain.
- You can empty a bowl by aiming at the ground at your feet and pressing Ctrl+.
- You can take only 0.1 L of liquid from a barrel or a bucket with the bowl by pressing Shift+.
- You can transfer 0.1 L of liquid from a bowl to a barrel or a bucket by pressing Ctrl+.
