Usage
The tuning spear can be used as a regular spear against all creatures, but the cost of its crafting ingredients will prevent the player from using it that way since its durability is not infinite.
The main use of the tuning spear is to hack a bronze or a corrupt locust . You cannot hack a corrupt sawblade locusts using a tuning spear. For this, the player will have to hit a locust in melee combat to hack it. One hit should be enought. That locust will then become your pet and defend you.
If your character's class is not Clockmaster, even if you manage to obtain a tuning spear, you will not be able to hack locusts.
For a list of all capacities of the hacked locusts, see the locust page.
Storage
The tuning spear can be placed against a wall, stored in containers and placed on tool racks .
Lore
Bring the wayward children home. -Item description
The wayward children are the locusts. They were primarily crafted to help people. We do not know why they turned against their creators.
Since the tuning spear is crafted using Metal parts and a Temporal gear , it is safe to assume that it was created at first by inventor Jonas Falx.
Jonas Falx is a very important character in the game's story. Several Lore Books mention his name, but most important of all is the five-part narrative entitled Reflection .
