The storage vessel is a type of craftable block which acts as a container . It is especially useful for storing certain types of food, since it reduces the spoilage rates for fruits , vegetables and grains .

Obtanting

The storage vessel can be crafted using clay forming out of any type of clay . Once formed, the raw storage vessel must be fired in a pit kiln . Uniquely, raw storage vessels require eight pieces of fuel to fire (firewood, peat, coal ...), as opposed to the four for other items in a pit kiln. Once fired, it may be placed on the ground as with any other storage container and accessed using  .

Decorated storage vessels can be bought via trading , or found in ruins. Storage vessels should not be confused with cracked storage vessels that can be found in ruins.

Usage

Storage vessels have 12 slots that can be filled by any item. They decrease the spoilage rates for grains, fruits and vegetables inside them. They further benefit from a cellar , so by using both a cellar and storage vessels, players can greatly extend the freshness of foodstuffs.

Due to the relative abundance of clay, and their relatively large capacity, storage vessels are useful in the early game as all-purpose storage. Later on, they remain useful due to their ability to help preserve food.

There are several decorations for the storage vessels:
