Items |
Peat bricks are fuel . They can be harvested from peat blocks in the soil.
Obtaining
Peat blocks are found in soil deposits where they replace several layers of soil blocks. Peat bricks are dropped when a player breaks a peat block . A shovel is the fastest tool available to harvest peat, but an empty hand may be used.
Usage
Peat bricks can:
- Be used as a fuel in the firepit to warm the player, but cannot be used to create the firepit .
- Cook meals in the firepit .
- Cook in a pit kiln the pottery items made using the clay forming mechanic.
- Turn lime into quicklime in a firepit , whereas firewood cannot reach a temperature high enough to do that.
Storage
Peat bricks may be carried in the player's inventory, or stored in containers . Peat bricks may also be stored in stacks on a block. Multiple stacks of peat bricks can be placed on top of each other. See resource crafting for instructions on adding/removing peat bricks to/from stacks.
Trivia
Peat bricks are technically blocks. However, a special block called peat pile is formed when peat is placed into the world. In the assets Tyron commented on the peat brick's block-hood: "There's no real reason why this is a block. Should be an item instead."
