A rift ward is a special construct used to stop temporal rifts.

A rift ward placed on the ground.

Crafting

The rift ward requires the following items to craft:

Ingredients Crafting Recipe
8x Nails and strips
4x Clear quartz
2x Metal parts
1x Jonas sub-assembly (Finely balanced oscillator)
1x Electrum ingot
1x Jonas part (Flux gap connector)
1x Iron plate
1x Jonas part (Inverted refraction cylinder)

Usage

Place the rift ward on the ground. Then insert a temporal gear as fuel in the rift ward. It will rotate and make some noise. The rift ward will "block" temporal rifts present as well as preventing new rifts from appearing for 14 days in a 30 blocks radius. Its information box will tell you how many rifts it has prevented so far and how long it will be operating before you need to refuel it.

Since this device is crafted using Jonas parts , it is safe to assume that it was created at first by inventor Jonas Falx.

Jonas Falx is a very important character in the game's story. Several Lore Books mention his name, but most important of all is the five-part narrative entitled Reflection .
