Usage
- Since update 1.16.0, the hitbox of fences is exactly one and a half blocks high, while also generally disallowing all creatures from stepping on them. This impedes both wolves leaping over fences, as well as entities of any kind stepping over the fence from the same height or above. However it recommanded to place your enclosure on a flat terrain far from a terrain elevation because predators could leap from there to land inside.
- If you are inside an enclosure, hostile entities can still deal damage through the fence if you get too close to it.
- Fences around your crops will prevent rabbits from eating them.
- Fences do not hinder animals or drifters to spawn inside of the premises they surround - to ensure no entities can spawn inside the area, it is recommended to keep everything inside of the fences on at least light level 7.
- Lighting the enclosure will also ensure that your domesticated animals will not despawn if you go far away on an adventure.
