Natural Generation

All the grains can be found growing as crops in various climates. They can also be found in cracked storage vessels.

Harvesting

All grains can be grown as crops by farming. When flax is harvested, it also drops flax fibers which are used to create twine and linen.

Usage

Grain may be eaten without cooking or can be used as an advanced cooking ingredient in porridge. It can also be ground in a quern to flour. Flour can be crafted with water to create dough, which can be baked into bread using a clay oven.

Grain can also be used as animal feed in both large and small troughs. Because of their long shelf-life, grains make very good animal feed. Flax grain is especially well suited to this due to its lower satiety (30) compared to other grains, since animal feed does not take satiety into account.

Storage

The grains have some of the longest shelf lives of any food items at 90 in-game days. Storage vessels are best at storing grain and when used in a cellar, grain can last for multiple years.
