ALL players on a server or in a multiplayer LAN game must enter a bed for players to sleep through part of the night. Bed types do not have to be identical to be used. If some players have Hay Beds, and others have Wooden beds, the time all players sleep is averaged between the different bed types used.

Beds (of the same type) stack and can be transported in player inventory, or stored in [[containers#stationary|containers]]. Beds do not require a tool to pick up. Break (left mouse button) with bare hands or any other tool to collect.
''All'' players on a server or in a multiplayer LAN game must enter a bed for time to pass. Bed types do not have to be identical to be used. If players have different beds, all players sleep for the time specified by the minimum of the beds used. Players using beds that would allow a longer sleeping time will not exit their beds automatically and may need to 'sneak' to exit the bed.
