Bandages are a consumable item in Vintage Story that can be used to heal the player. Along with poultices, they are a major source of quick health recovery. There are two types of bandage with slightly different healing effects.
Creation
Bandages are made out of linen. There are multiple recipes for clean bandages. It can be made out of a square of linen and a knife, or by combining two pieces of linen twine vertically. Certain clothing items can also be combined with a knife to produce bandages. These are the tattered linen shirt, the tattered peasant gown, and the tattered crimson tunic.
Alcohol-soaked bandages are made by combining 0.2L of aqua vitae in a container with a clean bandage. Once created, the alcohol-soaked bandage begins drying rapidly. If allowed to dry completely, it will turn back into a clean bandage.
Usage
Bandages can be used by equipping them in the hotbar and right-clicking. Clean bandages heal 3 HP, while alcohol-soaked bandages heal 7 HP. Alcohol-soaked bandages dry completely in one hour. Because of this, it is advised not to make alcohol-soaked bandages in advance.
Clean bandages can also be used to create linen pulp, for creating parchment.
