Obtaining

Raw hides can be looted from wild or domesticated animals upon death. The following animals have a chance to drop hides:

• Small hides: adult hare , adult raccoon , adult fox , lamb , goat kid , deer fawn , and some adult species of deer.
• Medium hides: adult pig , hyena , adult wolf
• Large hides: adult bighorn sheep , adult gazelle
• Huge hides: Bear

Usage

A few crafting recipes use raw hides:

• warm robe
• rawhide mantle
• rawhide trousers

Oiled hide

Curing hides with fat creates pelts that can be used in recipes for

• lamellar armor
• fur coat
• knee-high fur boots
• fur gloves
• fur lined reindeer herder shoes
• reindeer herder fur coat
• hunter backpack which adds 5 inventory slots
• longbow

Soaked hide

Soaking and tanning raw hides creates leather that can be used in recipes for

• leather backpack
• several types of armor
• a few clothing items
• sling
• books
• dyed leather
• glider
• bows
• leather reinforced wooden shield
• antler mount
