A parchment is an item used to label crates and craft or transcribe books.
Creation
There are two different methods to craft parchment.
Hides
Use shears onto a small scraped hide that was made with leather working.
Flax
Place flax fibers into a barrel with at least half as much water (you can place a stack of 16 flax fibers in a full barrel). It will turn into linen fiber pulp after 24 hours of sealing.
You can use a sieve to transform 4 linen fiber pulp into 1 parchment.
Storage
Parchments can be stored in stationary containers or placed on the ground.
Usage
Label
A parchment can be used to make a label for an empty crate.
Place one of the following pigments in your hand to write on a label.
- Black text: Charcoal or Black coal
- White text: Limestone or Chalk
- Blue text: Lapis lazuli
- Red text: Cinnabar
- Green text: Malachite
Books
Parchments can also be used to copy text from books especially lore books. It requires ink and quill in the left hand.
Blank books can be crafted using 8 parchments and 2 leathers.
