Poultices are healing items in Vintage Story. They are the primary method for regaining health quickly. Poultices are largely made out of plant-based materials, and a variety of poultices with different effects exists. Though other healing solutions exist, poultices offer a cheap, reliable and instant method of healing player characters. It is therefore advisable to carry around a good amount of poultices in dangerous situations.

Creation

Poultices can be made of various materials. All poultices use the same base of either a piece of linen or reeds (both cattails and papyrus will work). The max stacking size for poultices is 16.

Horsetail poultices require four horsetails on top of a base of two reeds or one linen:

Usage

In order to use a poultice, the player must equip it in their hotbar then use the poultice on themselves. Horsetail reed poultices heal for 2 HP, while horsetail linen poultices heal for 4 HP. Honey-sulfur poultices heal (from reed) for a total of 4 HP while honey-sulfur poultices (from linen) heal for a total of 7 HP.
