This is the landing page for content mod concepts. These give detailed explanations on certain topics that are used when making content mods. Some concepts can be quite complex, but when making content mods it is a good idea to know about each of them and what they do.

Content Mod Concepts

  • Variants - Variants allow the creation of many similar objects within a single file.
  • Domains - Domains are used to separate content into specific namespaces, usually a modid.
  • Patching - Patching allows the modification of vanilla game assets and assets from other mods.
  • Remapping - Remapping is used when a mod updates to ensure that assets are updated to newer versions.
  • World Properties - World Properties are used to create variant groups to be used from multiple assets, as well as store some other data.
