A crude oar is used to propel a raft. It was added in version 1.18.
Crafting
You can craft a crude oar in your crafting grid using the following items:

Usage
- Place the raft on the water with a right mouse click.
- Right mouse click on the raft to board it.
- With a crude oar in your active hotbar slot, you can move the raft in the direction you want.
- Disembark from the raft using the shift key.
- Pick up the raft using the shift key combined with a right mouse click.
