Off-hand
From Vintage Story Wiki
The off-hand slot is a special equipment slot in Vintage Story. Off-hand equipment confer a range of bonuses to the player while the player is still able to use his main hand for holding items.
Items equipped in the off-hand slot perform a variety of purposes. However, equipping any off-hand item increases the rate of hunger by 20%.
Usage
The off-hand slot is used by the following items:
Tongs, allows players to pick up high-temperature objects.
Shield, provides increased damage resistance.
Torch, provides light.
Lantern, provides light.
Ink and quill, allows to write in blank books and transcribe books content to parchments.
Hammer, allows the player to chisel blocks with a chisel in the main hand.
