Honey is a liquid produced by bees in Vintage Story. It is used in cooking and to craft poultices.
Obtaining
Honey is produced by squeezing honeycomb over a placed bowl. Although this action is referred to as "pressing", it does not actually use the fruit press. Honeycomb can be obtained by breaking wild beehives, or as a product of beekeeping.
Since it is a liquid, honey must be transferred in containers such as bowls or buckets.
Uses
Honey can be directly consumed from containers. Each litre of honey provides 300 fruit satiety.
Honey is used in cooking to produce jam, a long-lasting foodstuff that provides fruit satiety. It is also an optional ingredient in porridge and meat stew, with a minimum portion size of 0.2L. Honey can also be used to brew mead, an alcoholic substance.
Honey is also used to craft poultices, along with reeds or linen and sulfur. Honey-sulfur reed poultices heal for 4 HP, while honey-sulfur linen poultices heal for 7 HP. This makes honey-sulfur linen poultices one of the most potent healing items in Vintage Story, on par with alcohol-soaked bandages.
