Borax is a mineral used in leatherworking, forge and Dye creation.
Location
Borax can be found as an ore in sedimentary rock (chalk, chert, conglomerate, limestone, argilite, sandstone and shale). It can also be found in surface deposits.
Usage
Borax must first be powdered, either with a hammer or in a quern before use. Powdered borax is used in leatherworking to make diluted borax, necessary for creating soaked hides. Powdered borax is also needed to create iron anvils, when welding the top to the bottom piece.
Powdered borax is also used to create white dye.
