Borax is a mineral used in leatherworking, forge and Dye creation.

Location

Borax in rocks.

Borax can be found as an ore in sedimentary rock (chalk, chert, conglomerate, limestone, argilite, sandstone and shale). It can also be found in surface deposits.

Usage

Borax must first be powdered, either with a hammer or in a quern before use. Powdered borax is used in leatherworking to make diluted borax, necessary for creating soaked hides. Powdered borax is also needed to create iron anvils, when welding the top to the bottom piece, and for making the lid of coffins for the steel cementation furnace.

Powdered borax is also used to create white dye.
