Usage

Bowls can be used to store liquids such as water, milk, honey and others. Bowls can hold a maximum of 1L, and can be used to move liquids between other containers such as buckets and jugs. Their low capacity makes them useful while cooking certain types of meals in the cooking pot that require relatively small quantities of liquid, such as jam.

Bowls can also be used to take portions of meals out of cooking pots and crocks, by equipping an empty bowl and right-clicking the filled crock or cooking pot. This is the only way to get an edible portion of food from either of those utensils.

Bowls are also a crafting ingredient for creating oil lamps, alongside fat. Oil lamps are a useful early game source of light - while dim, they never burn out and cannot be extinguished by rain.
