Items

Bread is an edible food item in Vintage Story. It is made from dough and baked in an oven. Compared to the base grain from which they are made, bread is a significantly more efficient way to gain grain satiety.

Creation

Bread is created by baking dough inside a hot clay oven. To heat the oven, the player must first burn some firewood inside it. Once the fire extinguishes the oven will be heated up. Bread and other baked goods can only cook inside an oven that is above 160°C.

Dough is made by combining one unit of flour with one liter of water. The raw dough can then be placed inside the preheated oven to bake. As the bread bakes it will play a slow animation of the dough rising. The oven can be right-clicked to remove the finished items.

There are three stages of cooking bread: part-baked, baked and charred. These items have different spoilage times and will restore different amounts of satiety.

Usage

Different types of bread will grant different satiety and shelf lives. Each piece of bread represents one serving.
