Escudos
A shield is an item used for defense, it only works when used in your offhand and is more effective if used while crouching.

Shields
Crude Shield
This is a basic shield with little durability and lesser absorption than the advanced shield types.
Blackguard Shield
This shield requires Blackguard class to be crafted, unless class exclusive recipes are disabled on world creation or through world configuration.
Any wood can be used.

Ornate versions require sewing kit.

Storage
Shields are usually put in the hotbar when carried. Shields can be placed on an armor stand, tool rack and tool mold rack.
