Crates are stationary containers that can be placed on the ground. They are used to store a single type of item in great quantities.
Creation
Crates can be assembled from planks and boards.
Looting
Aged Crates can occasionally be found in underground ruins.
Usage
Crates can be changed between "Open" and "Closed" modes, by placing them in the crafting grid. This allows the player to see the contents of the stored item inside. Do note that this only works for some items in the game, and not all.
Similar to chests, a label can be added to crates, however, instead of using wooden signs, this requires parchment. Parchment can be brought from certain merchants. This is done by combining the parchment and the crate in the crafting grid.
Fuel
Crates are flammable and can be used as fuel in a firepit.
Storage
Crates can be used as ground storage for a single type of any item. Depending on the wood that was used to craft them, it will have a different amount of storage slots available.
