The Bow is a ranged weapon used for combat when combined with Arrows.
Creation
Bow
Currently there are two kinds of bows, which are created in the crafting grid - however, only the hunter has access to the crude bow recipe.
Arrows
Similar to the bow, there are two different types of arrows - the normal one which can be crafted by everyone, and the crude version which is only accessible to the hunter class. The raw material used to create the tool head determines the crafting process required:
- Knapping: Only flint - this is also the only type of arrow head usable for a crude arrow.
- Smithing (1 ingot): Iron, Bronze alloy, Copper, Gold, and Silver.
Arrowheads are used to assemble arrows in the crafting grid.
Arrow Tier
The type of arrow used modifies the base attack power of the bow.
Arrow Variant | Arrow Modifier | Combined Attack Power | |
---|---|---|---|
Flint | -0.5 | 2.5 | |
Copper | 0.0 | 3.0 | |
Tin Bronze | 1.0 | 4.0 | |
Bismuth Bronze | 1.0 | 4.0 | |
Black Bronze | 1.5 | 4.5 | |
Iron | 2.0 | 5.0 | |
Meteoric Iron | 2.25 | 5.25 | |
Steel | 2.5 | 5.5 | |
Gold | 1.0 | 4.0 | |
Silver | 1.0 | 4.0 |
Usage
The bow and arrow is a weapon available to players from mid stages of the game. The type of arrows used affects the damage per hit.
Combat
Attacking a mob (ranged combat): Place the bow in an active hotbar slot.
- Charging the Bow: Press and hold right mouse button to charge the bow (nock/draw).
- Aiming the Bow: Aim the white crosshairs at the selected target
- Firing an Arrow: Release the mouse button to fire (loose) the arrow.
Note: The arrows do not need to be placed in a hotbar slot to be used.
Storage
Bows are tools and can be placed on a tool rack.
