Mortar is created by mixing slaked lime with sand using the barrel crafting mechanic.

For a yield of 64 mortar:

• Grind 16 limestones or similar lime-yielding stones, in a quern or with a hammer in the crafting grid.
• Cook the resulting lime powder in a firepit , using peat bricks or other fuel reaching at least 825 °C.
• Place the resulting 8 quicklime in a barrel containing 2 liters of water.
