== Creation ==

One ingot requires 100 units of metal, which is the equivalent of 20 nuggets. Players can create ingots from ore nuggets using two methods: [[Special:MyLanguage/casting|casting]] or smithed after using a [[Special:MyLanguage/bloomery|bloomery]]. All metals or alloys with ''melting temperatures below 1340°C'' can be created using the [[Special:MyLanguage/casting|casting]] mechanic, with the aid of an ingot [[Special:MyLanguage/mold|mold]] (1340°C is the burning temperature of [[Special:MyLanguage/coke|coke]]).

[[Special:MyLanguage/Iron|Iron]], [[Special:MyLanguage/meteoric iron|meteoric iron]] and [[Special:MyLanguage/steel|steel]] have melting temperatures above 1340°C and so cannot be cast. Instead, iron and steel ore must be fired in a bloomery and then smithed on an [[Special:MyLanguage/anvil|anvil]] or [[Special:MyLanguage/helve hammer|helve hammer]] to create their ingots. Copper and gold ingots can also be crafted using bloomery.

== Usage ==

Ingots are used in [[Special:MyLanguage/smithing|smithing]]. When heated using a [[Special:MyLanguage/forge|forge]] and worked on an [[Special:MyLanguage/anvil|anvil]], ingots are used to create:

* All metal [[Special:MyLanguage/Tools and Weapons|Tools and Weapons]]

* Components for metal [[Special:MyLanguage/armor|armor]]

* Components for [[Special:MyLanguage/shield|shields]]

* Plates for [[Special:MyLanguage/Light sources|Lanterns and Torch Holders]]

Ingots that can be cast can be re-melted, by first combining them with a [[Special:MyLanguage/chisel|chisel]] in the crafting grid, then placing the resulting [[Special:MyLanguage/metal bit|metal bits]] in a [[Special:MyLanguage/crucible|crucible]].

== Storage ==

Ingots may be {{tnt|SneakClick|placed}} in a [[Special:MyLanguage/Ground Storage|stack]] of up to 64 ingots of one type of metal.
