Lead is created from galena ore. Galena can be found as a surface ore in Rock#Stone_Type_and_Use_Chart, as ore blocks or surface bits.
<!--T:4-->
Twenty galena nuggets will Casting#Smelting_Metal one lead ingot. Due to its low melting point, lead can be smelted using low temperature fuels such as Firewood or Peat instead of higher temperature fuels such as Charcoal and Coal which are more difficult to obtain.
Silver can also be found in galena.

Lead is used to create ingot, which are used to create Alcohol Brewing#Solderbars. It is also a component for making Glass#Leaded_glass_pane.

Lead ingots are metal ingots obtained from smelting galena chunks and nuggets.
<!--T:7-->
Lead ingots can be Smithing on an anvil without being heated. However, the only items that can be made this way are lead plates using two lead ingots.

Lead is created from galena ore. 20 galena nuggets produces one lead ingot. Due to its low melting point, lower temperature fuels such as firewood or peat can be used as well as higher-temperature fuels like charcoal and coal.

Usage
<!--T:9-->
Lead is used as a component of the alloys molybdochalkos and lead solder. Furthermore, making leaded glass panels requires one lead ingot for every glass pane.
Lead is used for molybdochalkos, at a ratio of 8-12% copper to 88-92% lead. Molybdochalkos plates can be used to make Light_sources#Lanterns and the Archimedes screw.

While pure lead ingots are the only ones in the game that can be worked on an anvil while cold, pure lead itself has almost no use in smithing. The only item that can be made from lead is a lead plate - requiring 2 ingots - which can only be used in the crafting of an Archimedes screw.
<!--T:10-->
Lead can also be alloyed into lead solder ingots, at a ratio of 45-55% lead to 45-55% tin.
