'''Bread''' is an edible food item in Vintage Story. It is made from {{ll|dough|dough}} and baked in a {{ll|Clay oven|clay oven}}. Compared to the base {{ll|grain|grain}} from which they are made, bread is a significantly more efficient way to gain grain {{ll|satiety|satiety}}.

== Usage ==
== Obtaining == <!--T:5-->

=== Creation === <!--T:6-->
<!--T:7-->
Bread is made by baking {{ll|dough|dough}} inside a hot clay oven. To heat the oven, the player must first burn some {{ll|firewood|firewood}} inside it. Once the fire extinguishes, the oven will be heated up. Bread and other baked goods can only cook inside an oven that is above 160°C. It will process the dough into part-baked then baked then charred after certain amount of time passed.
<!--T:48-->
Alternatively, bread can be cooked in the [[Firepit|firepit]] which only cooks charred bread.
<!--T:9-->
There are three stages of cooking bread: part-baked, baked and charred. These items have different spoilage times and will restore different amounts of satiety.
=== Purchasing === <!--T:10-->
<!--T:11-->
You can purchase spelt bread, rye bread, flax bread and rice bread from a {{ll|Trading#Agriculture|Agriculture trader}} for an average price of 2 {{ll|Rusty gear|rusty gears}}.
== Usage == <!--T:12-->
<!--T:13-->
Different types of bread will grant different satiety and shelf lives. Each piece of bread represents one serving.
=== Part-baked === <!--T:14-->
<!--T:15-->
This is underbaked bread. It has a shelf life of 5 days.
