# Below the actual press, there is a space meant for a container to collect the juice dripping down. Only buckets or jugs can be used as possible containers, and neither barrels nor bowls will work.
To create juice, follow the steps:
# The fruit press has a middle section that holds the fruit mash to be pressed. Depositing at least four fruits of the same type into this section will convert them into fruit mash. Once the fruits have been converted, they cannot be retrieved. Attempting to take them out of the press will result in fruit mash items being taken out instead.
# Place an empty container such as a bucket or jug under the press (1). A filled container will not work, even if creating the same juice.
# To operate the fruit press, the player will need to use the screw located at the top of the machine. The press requires at least 16 and no more than 32 fruits before it can be started. Once the fruits have been added, the player should hold down the right mouse button to fasten the screw. The screw will then press down to squeeze the mash and extract the juice.
# Supply the input (2) with fruit. At least 16 pieces of fruit and not more than 32 must be added for the press to function.
# Interact with the screw (3) until fully pressed.
# Wait for the juice to fill the container. The info overlay will display the current progress.
# Release the screw.
# Collect the fruit mash from the input which can be used to feed pigs and sheep.
# Collect the container which now contains the juice.

* Since update 1.16.4-rc.1, both juice and cider in the game will start to decay. The only option for long-term storage is to {{ll|Alcohol Brewing|process}} the juice first into cider and then into once distilled alcohol. However, in this process, all fruit nutrition value as well as some satiety will be lost.

* Each piece of fruit turned into juice provides 62.5 satiety, which is a loss, but extends the freshness by 250%.
