A lantern is a portable light source that cannot be extinguished by rain or underwater.

Obtaining

A lantern of various types of metal can be found in ruins.

Creation

The Lantern can be made in differnt ways based on material. 2 metal plates of different types is used along with a candle with either clear quartz or glass slabs. A gold or silver plate can be added to the crafting optionally which boost the light of the lantern.

Usage

Aside from portal light sources, lanterns can be placed in the wall or in the ground (including in fences) to act as light sources that allow the player to see during the dark.

Replacing

The lantern's glass can be swapped with another glass type especially the ones that not allowed in the crafting requirements. Various colored glass blocks can used by simply right-clicking a glass block that is carried into a placed lantern. Note that the original glass/quartz in the lantern is loss once done.
