<!--T:75-->
Axes can be crafted by players or bought from Trading.

=== Creation === <!--T:3-->

Axes are currently used to chop down trees, and to break wood-type blocks quicker.
<!--T:17-->
The raw material used to create the tool head determines the crafting process required:
* Knapping: All tool-making stones
* Casting (100 units): Copper and Bronze alloy
* Smithing (1 ingot): tool head crafted from the metals shown in the table (below).
* Metal scraps: scrap axe randomly acquired on usage
* Assembly, with either Stick (for every axe head) or Bone (for flint and stone axe head only):

Variants
{{Grid/Crafting
There are several variants that you can craft. Each variant has a different durability and attack power. A stone axe head can be crafted via knapping and the metal variants have to be crafted using smithing or casting. Note that axes take 2 ingots (200 units) of metal to forge, but only one ingot (100 units) to cast.

Currently, all axes have a range of 2 meters.

=== Purchasing === <!--T:24-->
<!--T:25-->
You can purchase axes from Trading. They sell them sometimes:
* Tin-bronze axe: for an average price of 9 rusty gear.
* Bismuth-bronze axe: for an average price of 10 rusty gear.
* Black bronze axe: for an average price of 11 rusty gear.
== Usage == <!--T:6-->
<!--T:19-->
The axe is most efficient when used to break wood blocks such as trees, logs, planks, fences, gates and items including wooden building components.
=== Harvesting === <!--T:7-->
<!--T:20-->
Breaking a tree with an axe will break many blocks at once. The targeted block will take a long time to break and when it does break, the tree will break with it. The max number of blocks it breaks is limited by the remaining durability of the axe. Cutting the whole tree at once still applies the same amount of damage to the axe as if each block was broken individually.
<!--T:34-->
Tree felling time is also based on wood type; hardwoods take 30% longer; tropical hardwoods longer still.
<!--T:35-->
Purpleheart requires at least a copper/scrap axe to fell; ebony requires at least a bronze axe.
</translate>

<translate>
=== Crafting === <!--T:9-->
<!--T:21-->
Firewood is crafted using the axe. When the axe is being used as a crafting tool, each time the recipe is crafted the tool will lose durability.
===Selling=== <!--T:26-->
<!--T:27-->
You can sell the axes you craft to Trading. They purchase sometimes:
* Tin-bronze axe: for an average price of 4 rusty gear.
* Bismuth-bronze axe: for an average price of 5 rusty gear.
* Black bronze axe: for an average price of 6 rusty gear.
==Storage== <!--T:11-->
<!--T:22-->
Axes can be placed against a wall, stored in Containers and placed on tool rack.
