Soup must be {{ll|Cooking|cooked}} in a cooking pot over a {{ll|firepit|firepit}}. It requires one liter of fresh {{ll|water|water}} and one {{ll|vegetable|vegetable}} to cook. Soups can optionally take two extra ingredients in slots 3 and 4 of the cooking pot. These can be {{ll|egg|eggs}}, {{ll|meat|meats}} (except bushmeat), or {{ll|vegetable|vegetables}}.

Once created, the soup is stored inside the cooking pot. Players can then {{Using|use}} an equipped {{ll|bowl|bowl}} or {{ll|crock|crock}} to transfer it to those items. The bowl will pick up one serving of soup which can then be eaten. The crock will allow players to store the cooked meal longer and extend its shelf life.
