Natural Generation (Spawning)

Wild pigs will spawn in light levels 10 and higher, at temperatures between -10 and 28, in areas with as little as 0.45 rainfall. They spawn in groups with an average of around 3 animals.

Behaviors

The males will ignore players unless provoked. When players get too close to wild boars, this can provoke an attack. The females are just as likely to attack as to ignore players, and the piglets will flee from players. As with other animals the females tend to stay around the males and the babies around their mother.

Receiving Damage

Males will attack the player. Females and piglets will flee upon taking damage. All boars flee from the player if their health gets low.

Domestication

Wild Pigs can be domesticated. See the page Animal Husbandry for more information.

Harvesting

Butcher the animal using a knife or scythe in the active hand to harvest red meat, medium raw hides, bones, and fat.
