Hares spawn in max light levels 7, at temperatures between -5 and 25°C, in areas with as little as 0.3 rainfall. They spawn in average groups of 1-4. Hares spawn specifically on tall grass blocks. Therefore, hares will not spawn on tilled farm blocks since the grass that grows on fallow tilled blocks does not grow tall enough to count as a valid spawn. Hare spawns can also be blocked by placing rocks on soil blocks as it prevents grass from growing. They will not spawn on lit blocks.
