Blocks

Hay bales are blocks mostly used for crafting. They're also a more efficient way of storing dry grass in a player's inventory. Being a block, they can be placed anywhere in the world.

Aged hay can only be found in ruins .

Usage

Animal Husbandry

Hay can be placed in large troughs to feed wild pigs and bighorn sheeps when breeding domesticated livestock.

Age hay cannot be used to feed animals.

Crafting

From hay bales

Hay bales can be used to craft:

You can get 8 dry grass back from a hay bale by simply placing the hay bale in the crafting grid.

From aged hay bales

Aged hay bales can only be used to craft:

Placing aged bales in the crafting grid will not give you back any dry grass.

Storage

Hay stacks to 64 and can be transported in the player's inventory, stored in stationary containers , or stacked on solid surfaces on the world.
