A Forge is a functional block that is used used to heat ingots to a temperature that will allow them to be shaped by [[Smithing|smithing]] into tools with a [[Hammer|hammer]] on an [[Anvil|anvil]]. To do this you must add [[Coal|coal]] or [[Charcoal|charcoal]] to the Forge and  by holding shift + right mouse click, then add your ingot the same way. To ignite the forge, shift + right click it with a torch. Ingots placed on top of the forge will be heated, and begin to glow. The [[Metal|metal]] can be worked when it is heated to a temperature above 60% of its melting point. Right click to take the ingot from the forge. The forge will continue to heat items until all fuel is consumed.

To heat ingots:

  1. Add coal or charcoal to the Forge by holding shift + right mouse click
  2. Add your ingot to the Forge by holding shift + right mouse click.
  3. To ignite the forge, shift + right click the forge with a torch.

Ingots placed on top of the forge will be heated, and begin to glow. The metal can be worked when it is heated to a temperature above 60% of its melting point. Right click to take the ingot from the forge when it reaches the desired temperature. The forge will continue to heat items until all fuel is consumed.
