The crucible is a tool used for smelting metals with a relatively low melting temperature, such as copper, tin, or bismuth (and others).

A crucible is made from clay via clayforming, and must be baked at a fire pit before use. Once the crucible is baked placing it in the item slot in the fire pit item slot causes 4 more slots to appear. These slots are for ores that you wish to smelt. By adding a fuel with a high enough burn temperature, ores added in these slots will be melted into the crucible. When the crucible moves to the firepit result slot, you may remove it and pour the metal into an empty ingot mold, tool mold, or anvil mold.
