The Bloomery is a functional block that can be used in the advanced stages of the game.

It is used for melting materials that require a very high temperature, such as glass and some metals that can not be melted in the firepit. The most important items are glass and iron.

Making the Bloomery

The Bloomery consists of two blocks: the Bloomery base and the chimney. Crafting both blocks requires a total of 12 fire bricks. These are the crafting recipes:

Once you have crafted these two blocks, place the Bloomery base first, then place the chimney on the top of the base.

Smelting in the Bloomery

The Bloomery does not have a GUI. You simply have to aim your crosshairs at the Bloomery Base and right click with the desired item in your active hand.

After you place items into the base, if you now aim at the Bloomery base, you will see in the description the items currently in the Bloomery:

You can now ignite the filled Bloomery with sneak + right click on the base with a Torch. After a few seconds you will see the smoke from the chimney, and the hole on the base will start to light up.

Smelting will take around 10 ingame hours. Once the smelting process is complete, you have to break the Bloomery to gather your materials.

Please note that breaking the Bloomery will return 8 fire bricks, so you will need another 4 bricks for crafting both Bloomery base and chimney to start the process again.
