Natural Generation (Spawning)
Bighorn sheep will spawn in light levels 10 and higher, at temperatures between -10 and 20, and in areas with as little as 0.43 rainfall. They spawn in average groups of 3 individuals.
Behaviors
These animals typically will wander about ignoring the player until provoked. Male Bighorn sheep always attack players when in close range. The females tend to stay close to the males and the young stay close to their mother. This means if a player traps the male (Ram), the others will stay close by.
Receiving Damage
Bighorn sheep will flee from the player when their health is low.
Domestication
Wild Sheep can be Domesticated. See the page about Animal Husbandry for more information.
- Note: Even after domestication, sheep cannot be sheared for wool.
Harvesting
Butcher the animal using a knife or scythe in the active hand to harvest red meat, large raw hides, bones, and fat.
