Axes are the primary tool used to break Wood-type Blocks.
The raw material used to create the tool head determines the crafting process required:
- Knapping: All tool-making stones
- Casting (100 units): Copper and Bronze alloy
- Smithing (1 ingot): tool head crafted from the metals shown in the table (below).
- Assembly, with either Stick or Bone:
|Material||Durability||Tool Tier||Speed (Wood)||Speed (Plant)||Speed (Leaves)||Attack Power (HP)||Attack Tier|
|Other Stone with Bone||60||1||2.6x||2.2x||1.7x||0.8||1|
|Flint with Bone||70||1||2.8x||2.2x||1.6x||1.3||1|
|Obsidian with Bone||100||1||3.5x||2.7x||2.4x||1.5||1|
Breaking a tree with an axe will break many blocks at once. The targeted block will take a long time to break and when it does break, the tree will break with it. The max number of blocks it breaks is limited to the remaining durability of the axe. Cutting the whole tree at once still applies the same amount of damage to the axe as if each block was broken individually.
Cutting the whole tree is much faster if you break all the leaves first! This also drops many more saplings and sticks.
Firewood is crafted using the axe. When the axe is being used as a crafting tool, each time the recipe is crafted the tool will lose durability.
Tools are items commonly used by players and are generally equipped in the hotbar. Up to four tools can be placed on the tool rack, a specialized wall-mounted storage container. Axes do not stack in inventory or when placed in containers.
