Use
== Usage == <!--T:6-->
This tool is most efficient when used to harvest or process wood blocks such as trees, logs, planks, fences, gates and items including wooden building components.
The axe is most efficient when used to break wood blocks such as trees, logs, planks, fences, gates and items including wooden building components.

Harvesting
=== Harvesting === <!--T:7-->
To harvest a material: place the tool in an active hotbar slot and press or hold left mouse button until the block breaks and the block or resource drops.
Breaking a tree with an axe will break many blocks at once. The targeted block will take a long time to break and when it does break, the tree will break with it. The max number of blocks it breaks is limited to the remaining durability of the axe. Cutting the whole tree at once still applies the same amount of damage to the axe as if each block was broken individually.
When chopping a tree, aim the crosshairs at the lowest block to harvest the entire tree.

Combat
Grid Crafting
=== Crafting === <!--T:9-->
The axe is used to craft firewood (grid crafting). Place the axe in the grid crafting slot above the log. Removing the firewood (product) from the output slot of the grid uses the tool. When complete, remove the tool from the grid, or close the interface by pressing 'E' to replace the tool into the inventory or hotbar.
Firewood is crafted using the axe. When the axe is being used as a crafting tool, each time the recipe is crafted the tool will lose durability.

Storage
==Storage== <!--T:11-->
Tools are items commonly used by players and are generally equipped in the hotbar. Axes do not stack in inventory or when placed in containers. The tool rack is a specialized wall mounted storage container that allows players to store tools. Tool racks are made of 6 sticks in the drafting grid and once placed, can store 4 tools each. Tools are placed from an active hotbar slot and removed using the right mouse button to an empty space in the hotbar.
