Hello! I'm Ruggbean, sometimes known as Teppich, and I'm happy to be here.

About Me

A wild Tepp at home

I first got into Vintage Story around October of 2020, after watching a Let's Play done by Kage848. I was immediately enamored with the game - the dangers, the more labor intensive processes such as knapping, the hardcore, unforgiving survival aspect - and I bought it soon after. My first day, I played it for 17 hours straight, despite having no goals, no story, and no real direction other than survive. To date, Vintage Story is one of my favorite games of all time, in no small part due to the lack of microtransactions, loot boxes, and NFTs, and the robust modding community that has made my experience in conjunction with the base game so enjoyable.

I hope to be in this community long past the time when the story and the major updates have been completed, and to see all of the wonderful things that the community as a whole has created.

Some quick facts about me:

  • I am happily married to my husband, Purbsi, who inspires me to do the best that I can every day and who I am very proud of.
  • I am a very proud (fur)father of 3, a foster (fur)father of 1, a (fur)uncle of 3, and a (human)uncle of 3.
  • My username comes from my void son, Gabe, who likes to roll around on the carpets and be vigorously petted. He is the love of my life.
    • The name Teppich is the German word for carpet.
  • I am very big into storytelling, worldbuilding, and conlangs. It is my dream to write a very in-depth high fantasy novel that would make Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson proud.
  • Some of my favorite authors and books are Robert Jordan (The Wheel of Time saga), Brandon Sanderson (The Cosmere saga), Donna Tartt (The Secret History), Brent Weeks (The Night Angel Trilogy, 4 out of 5 of the Lightbringer saga books), and Phillip Pullman (His Dark Materials trilogy).
  • I am solely powered by Redbull: Amber Edition, because it slaps and makes me happy.
