* A prospecting pick can be useful in finding olivine, but the main factor is finding peridotite, which might be covered by other rock types. Density Mode does not detect olivine. * A pickaxe of at least Tier 3 (bronze) is required to break a block containing olivine.
* It's possible for nuggets of olivine to generate on the surface, if peridotite containing olivine is within 10 blocks of the surface. The surface nugget has a rectangular appearance until picked up; then it looks more rounded, and cannot be placed on the ground.
