The lamellar armor is a type of armor that can be made both in the stone age as well as the copper and bronze age.
Creation
There are 2 types of lamellar armors: the wooden and the metal lamellar armor. They have vastly different durability and protection.
Wooden lamellar armor
The wooden variant requires different amounts of firewood , pelts and resin per armor piece. For a full set of wooden lamellar armor, you would need 1 Pelt (Medium), 2 Pelts (Large), 3 Resin and 29 Firewood.
Note: Those are the recipes requiring the less number of pelts and the smallest pelts necessary. However there are alternate recipes for those armor pieces using smaller but more numerous pelts, or the same quantity but with bigger pelts. See your ingame handbook for those recipes (H key).
Repairing this armor
Any armor piece of this armor set can be repaired using the following recipe in the crafting grid. You might need to multiply the quantities of all ingredients to get a full repair if the armor is very damaged:
Metal lamellar armor
The lamellae are made from either copper or any form of bronze metal by smelting and pouring the liquid metal into the lamellae mold. For a full set of metal lamellar armor, one would need at least 1 Pelt (Small), 2 Pelts (Large) and 19 Lamellae.
Armor Tiers and Durability
Different types of armors offer different protection values and durability. Additionally, they may hinder your movements speed and add to your hunger rate.
Having the least penalties for walking speed, healing effectiveness and ranged weapon accuracy and charge time - depending on the metal used - makes lamellae armor suitable for surface or underground exploration.
Armor | Protection Tier | Durability | Percent Protection |
---|---|---|---|
Wood Lamellar | 0 | 200 | 65% |
Copper | 1 | 450 | 75% |
Bismuth Bronze | 2 | 525 | 76% |
Black Bronze | 2 | 675 | 78% |
Tin Bronze | 2 | 600 | 77% |
