The player will require a [[resonator]] to use tuning cylinders. The resonator is placed on a block or on the ground and a tuning cylinder is {{tnt|Using|inserted}} in the empty cylindrical part of the resonator. The resonator crank then begins to spin and the music begins. You can {{tnt|Using|retrieve}} the tuning cylinder in the same way you inserted it. The resonator does not need an energy source to operate.
