Le soufre est un produit minéral que l'on retrouve dans certaines couches de roches sédimentaires.

Emplacement

Le soufre ne se trouve que dans ces couches de roches sédimentaires : grès, calcaire, argilite, craie, chaille, schiste et conglomérat. Le soufre peut apparaître sous forme de pierres à la surface, comme le cuivre ou le charbon .

Sulfur deposits generate at an elevation between 0.3 and 0.9 of sea level . In a world with default height settings, this ranges from Y = 33 to Y = 99. The deposit is disc-shaped with a radius of 6 to 10 blocks. Sulfur has 15 tries per chunk to generate, making it relatively common.

A Tier 2 pickaxe (copper or higher) or an ore blasting bomb is required to mine sulfur ore. Each block drops 1-2 sulfur chunks.

8 sulfur chunks can be purchased from the commodities trader for 3 to 5 rusty gears . While in stock, this trade can be performed 3 to 5 times per reset.

Processing

Sulfur chunks can be ground into powdered sulfur using a quern . 1 sulfur chunk turns into 2 powdered sulfur.

2L of sulfuric acid and 2 pieces of crushed chromite can be heated in a cooking pot to make 1L of chromium sulfate . Chromium sulfate is used in the production of sturdy leather , a crafting material for the highest tier of bags . This requires a pulverizer equipped with Tier 4 pounder caps (steel ).

Fish taxidermy

2L of sulfuric acid and 2 pieces of crushed sphalerite can be heated in a cooking pot to make 1L of zinc sulfate . A taxidermied fish is created by sealing 1L of zinc sulfate and 1 of any fish in a barrel for 12 hours. This requires a pulverizer equipped with Tier 1 pounder caps (copper or higher). Diluted borax can also be used.
