Silver is a metal . Its main use is as a component of black bronze . Silver can be used to create Tier 2 tools and equipment, but such tools have half the durability of their copper counterparts.

Obtaining

Silver can be obtained as native silver from ore deposits or, very rarely as native silver nuggets from panning bony soil .

Ores

Native silver ore can only naturally generate as a part of quartz or galena veins.

Usage

Silver, once smelted, can be cast into molds . Silver tools are considered tier 2, on par with copper, but have significantly less durability. Similar to gold tools, the rarity of silver means that pure silver equipment should be considered mostly ornamental.

Alloys

• Silver can be used as a component of black bronze, created by alloying 68-84% copper, 8-16% silver and 8-16% gold. Black bronze is a tier 3 metal, and the most effective type of bronze in the game.

• Silver can also be used to make silver solder ingots, by mixing 40-50% silver with 50-60% tin .

• Silver is an ingredient for electrum , by mixing 40-60% silver with 40-60% gold.

Improving lanterns

Silver plates can also be as lantern lining . Right-clicking on a placed lantern with a silver plate in hand will add it to the lantern and improve it's brightness by +2.
