The saddlebag equipment slot on the elk holds a set of saddlebags; they behave as a single container but visually there's one on each side of its body. It's not possible to make or equip just one saddlebag.

Usage
With saddlebags in your active hotbar slot, aim at the elk's thighs. The info overlay should tell you if you're aiming at the saddlebags slot. Hold Ctrl and use 
to place/remove the saddlebags.
History
- Saddlebags were implemented in version 1.20[1] along with mounts.
